The 2016 vintage in Oregon was, quite simply, the finest Oregon Pinot Noir vintage we have ever experienced. That’s not easy to say after the outstanding quality of the 2014 and 2015 vintages, but as time has progressed, this has become increasingly clear. The wines from the 2016 vintage show concentration and yet freshness, weight and yet liveliness. In short, they are everything you would want in Oregon Pinot Noir. The 2016 Siduri Zena’s Crown Vineyard is a good example of this – with the wine possessing fantastic dark fruit character which could veer it into the overly heavy camp, and yet it is magically fresh and vibrant on the finish.
