DESCRIPTION

One of Sta. Rita Hills' newest and most exciting vineyards, the John Sebastiano Pinot Noir is an eclectic blend of dark fruit elements and a mineral salinity - a nod to the Pacific Ocean nearby. Renowned for producing age worthy pinot noir that pairs perfectly with quail, chanterelles and filet mignon, or all three if you are very lucky.

Sta. Rita Hills

COLD WITH BEACH SAND FLATS AND FRACTURED CLAY CLIFFS

Winemaker’s Favorite Aspect:

It's a small AVA with a patchwork of soil types, elevations, and aspects that create varied, yet beautiful, expressions of Sta. Rita Hills.

Climate:

Cool, breezy, and refrigerated California sunshine

Regional Overview:

Cool and windy. The vines are not in a rush and take their time to ripen the fruit.

FOOD PAIRINGS:

Smoked Duck and Sta. Rita Hills Pinot is an epic experience. Santa Barbara County is steeped in barbecue tradition, and the interplay of bright, crunchy, crisp Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir and the smoky, earthy, gamy duck are incredible.
