The 2018 Sierra Mar Pinot Noir showcases black raspberry, fig and sandalwood aromatics that lead to a creamy midpalate offering loads of bramble fruit and hints of caramel. One of our southernmost sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands, this wine offers a beautiful mix of fruit, creaminess and backbone through the lengthy finish that are indicative of the sky-high quality of the 2018 vintage. I’m excited to revisit this wine every few months to see how it grows up, because it is wonderful now at such a young age.
