DESCRIPTION

At the end of Hapgood road in the Santa Rita Hills is Hapgood Vineyard. A gently inclined vineyard with slightly more clay loam than other sandier sites in the area, which produces a dense palate expression. The 2019 Hapgood opens with lavish blackberry and blueberry jam aromatics, complemented by toffee and forest floor notes in this not-so-shy wine. Seductively juicy and rich on the palate, the bramble fruits are tightly wound by brisk acidity and lush tannins. Our first vintage from this Santa Rita Hills vineyard is sure to become a fan favorite.

"
Elegant and smoothly integrated aromas of black cherry, star anise, clove and vanilla converge on the nose of this bottling. Polished tannins peel back on the palate to reveal waves of charcuterie, roasted meat, tart pomegranate and chai-spice flavors. It’s complex while cohesive."
