DESCRIPTION

Sourced from the Sonoma Mountain AVA, this wine exemplifies all that is rare and beautiful about Pinot Noir grown at altitude. Fresh black cherry, currants and bay laurel from the surrounding hillsides comingle with mocha and spice from barrel aging. Textural layers open to a firm backbone of tannin that calls to mind the high elevation. A wine to savor with beef stew now, or to cellar for 20 years - as mountain wines can.

"
The 2018 Pinot Noir Van der Kamp Vineyard is fabulous. Dark, rich and expansive, the 2018 has tremendous character and tons of nuance. Black cherry, lavender, spice, menthol and chocolate all infuse the big, powerful tannins that give the 2018 a ton of brooding intensity that needs time to soften. This is built for the cellar."
