2020 Sta. Rita Hills Machado Vineyard Pinot Noir
2020 Pinot Noir
About This Wine
Located in the cooler Western portion of the Sta. Rita Hills adjacent to Clos Pepe, the Machado Vineyard is planted on sandy loam soils that limit vine vigor and promote soaring aromatics that jump from the glass. Planted in 2008 to a unique mix of Dijon 459, Pommard and Mt. Eden, Machado's rolling hills are ideally suited to a Pinot Noir - showcasing crunchy red fruit and savory saline nuances.
Our inaugural vintage of this wine, the Sta. Rita Hills experiences a dry winter and warmer than average summer in 2020, producing wines with rich, ripe flavors and outstanding depth of palate and weight. Enjoy aromas of Bing cherry, strawberry, rose petal and allspice, followed by flavors of cranberry, cherry, black tea, and sage.
