Winter 2025 Club Wines

Siduri WINTER 2025 Club Wines

Dear Siduri Wine Club Members,

I hope this letter finds you well! We are very well at the winery, with the opportunity to release the first batch of the much-anticipated 2023 vintage Pinot Noirs. The 2023 vintage was mild – OK, well – beyond mild. The first days of picking were three weeks (!) later than normal. Of the wines in this release, only Barbieri and part of Perilune were picked in the month of September, with harvest stretching into the first few days of November in the latest sites. This was certainly a test of patience for wineries and vineyard teams that are normally busy throughout September – as we are all very ready to get on with the harvest!

However, this beautiful succession of mild, sunny days and cool evenings produced remarkably fresh, rich, and detailed wines that will be showing well for many years to come – and were more than worth the wait. Some say that it was a “once-in-a-lifetime vintage,” although I will refrain from that because I would love to make another 2023 vintage in my lifetime. The range of flavors and personalities in the 2023 vintage is truly remarkable – the attached notes will tell part of the story, but the wines are worth a visit even at this young stage. Additionally, you will surely notice a beautiful new label design that the team is quite proud of, highlighting the Siduri goddess brighter than ever before!

As always, thank you so much for your enjoyment and appreciation of the wines our team is making here at Siduri. If you enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoy making them, we feel good about all the challenging work it takes. Thank you for being a part of our Siduri family, we are grateful to have you along on this journey and hope to see you at the tasting room soon. I look forward to sharing more memorable moments together!

Cheers!

2023 Edmeades Vineyard Pinot Noir Anderson Valley

The historic Edmeades vineyard, located near the town of Philo in Anderson Valley, sits at about five hundred feet above sea level with clay soils and good ample sun exposure. The Calera clone is a standout here, producing soaring, floral aromatics with ample tannin and backbone. The 2023 Edmeades is highlighted by fresh strawberry and violets on the nose, with a palate saturated with cranberry, fresh blackberry, and black tea.

2023 Dutton-Perry Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

A mainstay in the Siduri lineup, Dutton-Perry Ranch Vineyard lies within the Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley. This puts it into the far western edge of the Russian River Valley and into the cooler part of the Appellation. This cool and foggy location and beautiful Goldridge soils allow for the grapes to ripen slowly and achieve remarkably elegant physiological ripeness. Freshness is the name of the game here – pomegranate, Bing cherry and a hint of mint lead to flavors of red plum and sage once sipped.

2023 Barbieri Vineyard Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

Highlighting an area that produces rich, dark yet elegant wines, the Barbieri Vineyard lies within the Santa Rosa Plains neighborhood of the Russian River Valley. The soils in this vineyard are clay loam, with excellent water holding capacity – and lend themselves to weightier Pinot Noirs. This is evident in the glass, as flavors of black cherry, cola and incense combine with aromatics of plum, black licorice and sandalwood.

2023 Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands

Sharing a fence with the renowned Garys’ Vineyard, the Soberanes vineyard was planted by the Pisoni and Franscioni families, in 2006. The name, "Soberanes," is a tribute to José María Soberanes, who in the late 1700’s marched from Mexico to Monterey Bay with the famed Portola expedition and camped on the flat plain at the base of the Santa Lucia Mountains that much (much) later became the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. This “sweet-spot,” nearly smack-dab in the middle of SLH jumps from the glass dark fruited aromatics of plum, black cherry and turned earth and flavors of blackberry, toasted herbs and five-spice.

2023 Perilune Vineyard Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills

The Perilune Vineyard lies in a pocket canyon along Highway 246 in the rugged and windswept Sta. Rita Hills. Perilune features a gorgeous array of steep hillsides and valley floor sections that are a winemaker’s dream when it comes to winemaking and blending. This wide array of options paired with the cool climate of SRH produce stunning aromatics of freshly opened rose, red cherry and pomegranate, buttressed by maraschino cherry, baked strawberry and allspice on the palate.

2023 John Sebastiano Vineyard Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills

The John Sebastiano Vineyard runs along the eastern edge of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation and, as such, it is in a warmer part of the valley. However, it is also situated on steep slopes that face directly west and into the winds that blow in off the Pacific Ocean. This balance produces rich yet elegant wines, with the 2023 highlighted by cranberry, allspice and ginger on the nose, and a palate packed with black fig, ginger, and saline accents.
