"Matured for 10 months in 25% new French oak, the2021 Pinot Noir Hapgood Vineyard has layered aromas of cranberries and blackberries with nuances of allspice, tea leaves, forest floor and spicy undertones. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, crunchy fruit with generous yet integrated new oak character. It has a silky texture, mouthwatering acidity and a long, spicy finish."
About This Wine
The Hapgood Vineyard is particularly fond of stem inclusion due to the long ripening period that produces ripe, lignified stems. We incorporate about 40% whole-cluster on the Mt. Eden clone, which adds soft, discreet tannins and floral notes. The Dijon 459 is fully destemmed and adds loads of ripe fruit to the blend. Hapgood sees about 30% New French Oak and 10 months of barrel age prior to bottling.
