An Open Love Letter to Pinot Noir,
Indications are very strong that we shall move into harvest within a few days, perhaps even tomorrow. Lest I should not be able to write you again, I feel impelled to write a few lines, that may fall under your eye. I am well and hearty and devoutly hope and trust that this may reach you my dear in the enjoyment of fine health1.
You still fascinate and inspire me. You influence me for the better. You’re the object of my desire, the #1 Earthly reason for my existence2. Pinot Noir, my love for you is limitless, it seems to bind me to you with mighty cables that nothing but Omnipotence could break. The memories of the blissful moments I have spent with you come creeping over me, and I feel most gratified that I have enjoyed them so long1. Your delicate flavors, gorgeous aromatics and bright acid leave me swooning at every sip.
I console myself with the reflection1 that our harvest will soon be here, and at no distant day, I will be able embrace you, and in ecstatic happiness that will then be mine.
