The 2014 vintage was a superb vintage for Russian River Valley Zinfandel. The grapes retained remarkable levels of acidity leading to a lively wine that beautifully expresses itself on the palate. The mixed black varietals in the vineyard create a wine that leads with Zinfandel, but features the intrigue of a Rhone-like edge. Glass-staining ruby color and explosively perfumed aromas of cherry skin and blackberry are brightened by zesty minerality and a subtle apricot quality. Lively dark fruits are on the palate, with Indian spice and floral pastille nuances emerging with air. This deep, sweet and supple Zin, finishes with excellent persistence and slow-building, harmonious tannins.
