Winemakers' Comments The Clos Pepe Vineyard is quickly becoming one of those special terroirs that is difficult to describe because seemingly it has all been written already. For example, this wine, the 2005 Siduri Clos Pepe Vineyard Pinot Noir, has already been favorably reviewed by wine writer Robert M. Parker, Jr. He rated the wine 90-92 points and described it this way, “With crisp acidity in addition to abundant structure and tannin, the most unevolved and backward offering is the 2005 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard. Sweet cherry, raspberry, plum, cinnamon, and damp earth/forest floor nuances are found in this long, impressively endowed Pinot. It will benefit from 1-2 years of bottle age, and drink well over the following 7-8 years.”
