Winemakers' Comments
Very few vineyards have emerged on the Pinot Noir scene with the same splash as the Amber Ridge Vineyard.
This success is certainly due, in large part, to the hard work of the vineyard’s owner, Frank Darrien. Of course, it also helps tremendously that virtually all of the Pinot Noirs released from this vineyard have received great press from the Wine Spectator. We are especially pleased with how the 2005 Siduri Amber Ridge Pinot Noir has turned out. We worked very hard to create a wine that exceeded the quality of last year’s release and ultimately settled on a blend that we loved, but that utilized only 41% of the final barrels. This type of selection process can be painful on the pocketbook
but very rewarding when popping a cork. We’re just sorry we didn’t make more!

Accolades for the 2005 Amber Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir
Russian River Valley

The 2005 Siduri Amber Ridge Pinot Noir has already received a 91 point rating from Allen Meadow’s highly respected publication that focuses on the wines of Burgundy (for more information check it out at www.burghound.com). Here’s what he writes,
"A relatively reserved, deeply pitched and impressively complex nose offers lovely hints of spice, blueberry and violet aromas that give way to sweet, round and nicely detailed flavors that possess much better depth as well as excellent overall balance. This is an understated effort that has a real sense of harmony and grace to it.”
