Winemakers' Comments
The Sonoma County Pinot Noir has quickly become one of our most popular Pinot Noirs, especially in restaurants and amongst retailers. Undoubtedly this is due to its extraordinarily good quality- to-price ratio. There simply aren’t many Pinot Noirs of this pedigree and quality at under $20 per bottle. The 2004 Sonoma County does have a particularly distinguished lineage. The wine is a veritable Who’s-Who of Sonoma County Pinot Noir vineyard sites. It is a blend of fruit from the Van der Kamp, Sonatera, Graham, Sapphire Hill, Olivet Grange, Ewald, Keefer, and Amber Ridge Vineyards. It is also a remarkable conglomeration of Pinot clones including 114, 155, 667, 777, 23, Pommard, and Martini. What truly thrills us is how such disparate parts have pulled themselves together into such a cohesive wine.

The 2004 Siduri Sonoma County is a somewhat richer and more fruit-filled version of our 2003 Sonoma Pinot Noir. With an abundance of forward blackberry, plum, and dark cherry fruits this wine immediately seduces you with its precocious nature. The mid-palate is plush but nicely balanced with just a hint of tannins on the finish. This wine is made for drinking in the short term but will age well for 3 or more years.

Accolades for the Siduri 2004 Sonoma County Pinot Noir:

"This blend from eight vineyards delivers deliciously soft, juicy cherry and blackberry flavors and a creamy vanilla character for a very fair price in a world of expensive Pinot Noirs. "
