Winemakers' Comments
Olivet Grange vineyard is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. It is a small, 4 acre vineyard set at the crossroads of Piner and Olivet Rd. There are four clones of Pinot Noir planted: 115, 667, 777 and 114. Olivet Grange is farmed by winemaker Kathleen Inman (who makes wines under the Inman Family Wines label) We barrel selected the lots for this blend by tasting blind, and came up with a blend that is only 9 barrels (225 cases). Because of the warmer vintage in 2004, the wine is more powerful than elegant. There are classic Russian River flavors of Bing cherries, anise, cedar and tobacco. The wine’s silky mouth feel explodes in the mouth and creates along smooth finish. Pair this wine with any Pinot friendly dishes or drink on its own. This wine should drink well for up to five years.
