Winemakers' Comments
Ewald Vineyard. was a new source for us in 2004. The vineyard is located a stone’s throw away from two legendary vineyards: Dehlinger and Kistler. With neighbors like that, who wouldn’t want to move into the neighborhood? We are very pleased with the results of our first go at this vineyard. This wine will be one to remember, as we feel it is one of our best efforts to date.
Upon opening this bottle you will be greeted by intense aromas of anise, lavender and blueberries. As the wine opens up it will show that it is indeed classic Russian River pinot noir: dark cherries and tobacco. Because of the perfect acidity, the wine has perfect grip, and will go excellent with food. This wine will keep getting better over time. I believe that it will continue to improve for the next 5-7 years

A fragrant, elegant, delicate style, with wonderful harmony and finesse, offering well-centered ripe plum, wild berry and black cherry fruit. The finish lingers, repeating the concentrated black fruit themes. Drink now through 2010. 167 cases made. - J.L.
