Robert Parker Reviews 1998 Siduri Wines
The 1998 wines are “…the finest portfolio Siduri has yet produced.

1998 CALIFORNIA PINOT NOIR – “…offers spicy, dried herb, cherry, and plum aromas and flavors.  With a soft center and heady finish, it offers a pleasant introductions to Siduri’s elegant yet flavorful style of Pinot Noir.”

1998 HIRSCH VINEYARD PINOT NOIR- “A hedonistic Pinot Noir fruit cocktail, it is a gloriously perfumed, exquisitely ripe, rich, lusty, fruit effort.  Full-bodied, with well-integrated acidity and tannin, as well as copious quantities of black cherries, currants, raspberries, smoke, and toast, this rich, silky-textured wine should be drunk during its first 5-6 years of life.”

1998 MUIRFIELD VINEYARD PINOT NOIR- “Revealing an intriguing Vosne-Romanee style, it possesses a dark ruby color as well as a sweet, toasty nose with aromas of black cherry and raspberry fruit, medium body, sweet tannin…and an excellent finish.”

1998 PISONI VINEYARD PINOT NOIR – “…is an outstanding wine.  It displays good underlying tangy acidity…a pronounced sweet bing cherry fruitiness, medium body, and an emphasis on finesses and elegance.”
- Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Issue 126

Stephen Tanzer Reviews 1998 Siduri Wines
“This winery…reminds me of the early days of Williams Selyem….

1998 CALIFORNIA PINOT NOIR – “…evolved aromas of cherry, smoked meat, mocha and underbrush.  Sweet and smooth…with a roasted cherry flavor….”

1998 HIRSCH VINEYARD PINOT NOIR- “Plummy aromas of smoked meat and milk chocolate.  Then more focused and fresher in the mouth, with a core of sappy cherry fruit and a note of fresh herbs.  Nice sweetness and density.  Finishes with dusty, even tannins and very good length.”

1998 MUIRFIELD VINEYARD PINOT NOIR- “Floral aromas of black cherry, raspberry and espresso.  Juicy, spicy, concentrated flavors of red and black berries; shows a sappy, almost liqueur-like ripeness supported by firm acids.  The floral note repeats in the mouth.”

1998 PISONI VINEYARD PINOT NOIR – “Lively aromas of raspberry, black plum, white pepper, mocha and sandalwood; has pungent spiciness that comes from the Burgundy clone in this soil.  Sweet and juicy in the mouth, with lovely precision of flavor and firm structure.  Lively and nicely balanced.  Finishes with firm but even tannins and excellent persistence…One of the finest pinots to date from this intriguing vineyard.”

1998 VAN DER KAMP VINEYARD PINOT NOIR- “saturated red-ruby color.  Very complex nose combines smoky black raspberry, currant, roast coffee and flowers.  Juicy but very tightly wrapped…Offers considerable potential.”
- Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar, Issue 90
