Fall 2023 Club Release

Siduri Fall 2023 Club Wines
Dear Siduri Club Members,
The winery is now in full swing with a later start to harvest than we’re accustomed to — it was actually a very rare break for us to have Labor Day weekend off after bottling the 2022 vintage for our last bit of summer fun! But now, I am hunkered down in the cellar and road tripping to vineyards from Annapolis to Zena Crown and all points in between. The team and I are celebrating another excellent harvest, and what better way to celebrate than with some open bottles of Siduri with you?
It brings me great pleasure to share the last of the 2021 vintage releases with you—it was a truly special vintage in its own right, but an especially joyous “rebound” vintage for us here at Siduri after a difficult 2020. Also, any time Garys’, Sierra Mar and Van der Kamp are in a release, I can’t help but think of it as a greatest hits album of some sort. I also feel very strongly that Skycrest and Sealift Vineyards offer up rich, juicy Pinot Noirs that will appeal to fans of those “O.G.” three. We’ve been loving them here at the winery and are thrilled to finally release them into the wild!
In other news, I’ve been working on a highly classified, top-secret project that will be coming to light in late 2023 — so stay tuned and leave a little space in your cellar. We’ll keep exploring the most exciting Pinot Noir vineyards we can find, leaving no stone unturned, to bring you places that showcase Pinot Noir in exceptional ways. I hope we can share a glass and catch up together sometime soon. And if you’re passing through Sonoma County, I would be more than happy to stop by and share the stories of the vineyards, vintages, and people that make Siduri the special place that it is. We’re elated to have you be a part of it, and I look forward to our next adventure.
Cheers,
Matt Revelette and everyone at SIDURI

2021 Sierra Mar Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands
The Sierra Mar Vineyard is one of the southernmost sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands for Siduri. As such, the site usually gets a later start to the growing season, but the maturity of the fruit catches up a bit more quickly as the season progresses. One of the most picturesque sites in the Siduri lineup, the high elevation and cooling winds create wines with dark, brambly fruit notes with a more broad-textured, grippy mouthfeel. The boysenberry, black cherry and incense aromatics offer up a beautiful snapshot of the mild growing season of 2021 in Sierra Mar.

2021 Sealift Vineyard Sonoma Coast
Along the rolling hills near the town of Annapolis in the far northwestern corner of Sonoma County lies the Sealift Vineyard, just four miles from the Pacific Ocean. This proximity to the Ocean provides ample cool air and fog for a long, mild growing season. Planted at 1,200 feet above sea level on Goldridge Sandy Loam soils, Sealift is a spectacular site. Blackberry and dried herbs lead the way on the palate, with the classic Annapolis orange peel notes emerging as well. This vineyard has a unique ability to make wonderfully lifted, aromatic wines with immense depth and weight as well — a delicious balancing act in the glass.

2021 Garys’ Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands
Garys’ Vineyard has been a superb source of Pinot Noir ever since the first crop in 1999. The entire vineyard is planted to the Pisoni Selection of Pinot Noir, a suitcase clone from Burgundy. We are fortunate to get fruit from two different sections of Garys’ Vineyard — one at the top of the vineyard and the other near the very bottom. These sections are planted on different rootstocks, which produces a much more complex and interesting Pinot Noir. With notes of black plum, baking spices and anise on the nose, the 2021 Garys’ is inviting and rich — leading to a packed palate of black raspberry kirsch, caramelized cherry, and roasted herbs. Dark, rich, and complex, the 2021 Garys’ Vineyard highlights a long, cool harvest season that allowed for a beautiful balance of fruit, spice, and earth to develop on the vine.

2021 Skycrest Vineyard Anderson Valley
The high-altitude Skycrest Vineyard in Mendocino County’s rugged and remote Anderson Valley is a rocky site that produces deep and structured Pinot Noirs. Located just 18 miles from the Pacific coastline, the vineyard climbs from 1,400 to 2,200 feet and features a patchwork of small blocks. The Siduri Skycrest Pinot Noir is a lively, aromatically charged wine that showcases the beauty of the site. The 2021 Skycrest jumps from the glass with ripe plum, turned earth and cloves. The weighty palate is loaded with black cherry, with ample spice notes and tannin to focus the wine through the finish.
